DETAINER HOOK BARB barbed tape obstacle is the premier physical perimeter barrier available in the world, It is the newest effective security product specified today. DETAINER HOOK BARB offers unequalled physical protection and psychological detterrence.

DETAINER HOOK BARB barbed tape obstacle fabricated in five (5) different diameteres: 635mm / 787mm / 939mm / 1040mm / 1560mm. It shall be fabricated from a 39.25mm wide and .62mm thick 430 series stainless steel strip hardened to Rockwell (30N) 35-40. Clusters of eight (8) needle sharp barbs shall be located 100mm on centre around each coil loop. The number of barb clusters on each loop shall be: 635mm dia.—l9( ±1 ) 787mm dia.—24( ±1 ) 939mm dia.—29( ±1 ) 1040mm dia.—32( ±1 ) 156Omm dia.—48( ±1 ). Barbs shall have a minimum length of 65mm from tip. Each barb shall be angled away from the center line of the tape approximately 24 degrees and have a retaining barb located 17mm from the barb tip. The retaining barb shall be 6.35mm nominal length. The 430 stainless strip shall be cold rolled around a 300 series austenitic stainless steel high tensile core wire having a tensile strength of 896 MPa (130,000 psi) and a minimum diameter of 2.5mm.

The DETAINER HOOK BARB barbed tape obstacle shall have a 230 degree wrap around the core wire. Each roll shall consist of 31, 51 or 81 loops, with adjacent loops firmly clipped together at approximately equal spacing around the circumference of each loop, continuous for the entire roll, causing the finished roll to expand in a concertina fashion. Clips shall be fabricated from austenitic stainless steel and be capable of withstanding a minimum tensile load of 68 kgs. Each roll will cover 7.5 linear meters.
