MAZE
MAZE barbed tape obstacles are the original long-barb, wire reinforced concertinas. They serve in more minimum to medium security applications around the world than any other barbed tape.
MAZE barbed tape obstacles are produced in three diameters, 400mm / 600mm / 750mm. The barbed tape is fabricated from a 26mm wide and .62mm thick strip of a 430 series stainless steel, hardened to Rockwell ( 30N) 34 - 40. Clusters of four (4) needle Sharp barbs shall be located 100mm on centre around each coiL loop. The number of barb clusters respective to the diameter shall be: 450mm dia.—-13 ( ±1 ) / 600mm dia.—19 ( ±1 ) / 750mm dia.—23 ( ±1 ). Barbs shalI have a minimum length of 60mm from tip to tip. The stainless steel barbed tape strip shall be cold rolled around a 300 series austenitic stainless steel high tensile core wire having a tensile strength of 896 NP ( 130,000 psi) and a minimum diameter of 2.5mm.
The barbed tape strip shall have a 230 degree wrap around the core wire. Each roll of MAZE shall consist of 31, 51, or 81 coil loops, depending on the application. Each loop shall be firmly clipped to adjacent alternating loops at approximately equal distance around the circumference of the coil three times. Clips shall be fabricated from austenitic stainless steel and be capable of withstanding a minimum tensile load of 68kgs.
